IT handoff

IT handoff

Choose Hand off to IT in the Setup Centre when the workspace owner does not manage the server, network or UniFi credentials.

Invite the installer

  1. Choose Hand off to IT.
  2. Enter the installer’s email address.
  3. Choose the site they will connect.
  4. Send the invitation.

The invitation expires after seven days. Once accepted, installer access lasts 14 days. You can extend it by another 14 days or revoke it from the Setup Centre.

The installer can work with Runners and UniFi Access for the selected site. They do not get billing access or general operational access.

Send these details separately

  • which machine will run the Runner
  • whether it uses Linux or Windows
  • the UniFi Access controller hostname and port
  • who can create the UniFi API token
  • the network destinations that must be allowed

Do not put the API token or a pairing code in the invitation, a ticket or a long email thread.

Pairing codes

The installer should generate the code from their temporary access when they are ready to run the installer. The code expires quickly and can only be used once.

Follow progress

The workspace owner can watch the checklist in the Setup Centre without seeing the UniFi token. After the first live event arrives, an authorised administrator should check it and select Confirm event and finish setup.

Revoke installer access when the work is finished if it has not already expired.
