Using MusterlyPeople and safety roles

People and safety roles

People are brought into Musterly from UniFi Access. The People page lets you organise those records without changing the source system.

People

Use the site selector to narrow the directory. Select a person to open their profile.

Depending on your permissions, you can:

  • set the name shown in Musterly
  • change the person’s department
  • assign safety roles
  • add or change their photo
  • ignore or restore the person
  • review their door and attendance history

Musterly keeps the name received from UniFi as the source name. A displayed-name change only affects Musterly, which makes it safe to tidy abbreviations or outdated labels without editing UniFi.

Ignore a person

Ignored people stay in the People directory, but are left out of Who’s In and Attendance until restored.

This is useful for test credentials, service accounts or records that should remain available for administration but not appear in live operations. It is not the same as deleting someone from UniFi Access.

Departments

Open People → Departments to create, rename or remove department labels.

You cannot remove a department while people are assigned to it. Move those people to another department, or clear the department from their profiles, then try again.

Safety roles

Open People → Safety Roles to create roles such as Fire Warden or First Aider. Choose a name, colour and icon, then assign the role from a person’s profile or the people list.

When a person with a safety role is on site, that cover appears on Who’s In.

Deleting a safety role removes it from everyone who has it. It does not remove or ignore those people.

Permissions

Viewing the directory and changing people are separate permissions. If you can open People but cannot edit a field, ask a workspace administrator to check your role.
